01 · The first ten minutes

Seven steps, then it runs.

01

Choose “Work alone”.

That is iCloud mode without a server. “Connect to team” needs your own instance and isn't needed to start.

02

Create your first tasks in one line.

For example “Finish mix tomorrow 3pm p1 #album”. Without a project it lands in the inbox.

03

Create a project and name the groups.

Groups are the sections on the board – say “Preparation”, “Recording”, “Release”.

04

Open My Day and drop a task into a block.

A day block is an intention, not a new due date.

05

Allow notifications.

For tasks with a time, Kendoshi reminds you 30 minutes before.

06

Export a backup.

Settings → Data → Backup. Try it once and you know where it lives.

07

Set up the look.

Theme, density and language sit in the settings under Appearance.

02 · Frequent questions

This gets asked a lot.

Where is my data?

In the private iCloud database of your Apple account, synced via CloudKit. In team mode the shared projects live on the server you run yourself.

What does Kendoshi cost?

Kendoshi is a one-time purchase without a subscription. Product editions and prices are listed in the store.

Why don't I see the same state on one device?

CloudKit syncs as soon as a device is online and signed in to the same Apple ID. Check iCloud in the system settings; the status line at the bottom of the sidebar shows the last sync.

How do I get something deleted back?

Through the archive. Tasks, groups, projects and folders stay there for 30 days, each with its date, and can be restored. The exception: checked inbox tasks are deleted permanently after 30 seconds.

Can I get tasks into my calendar?

Yes, through a personal ICS link per project that you subscribe to in Apple or Google Calendar. The other way round, Kendoshi shows events from Apple Calendar – display only.

Does quick entry understand German?

Yes. “morgen 15:00 p1 #Album jede Woche” works just like the English version. You switch the interface language in the settings.

Can I dictate tasks?

Yes, using Apple's dictation, which works in any text field – the microphone key on the iPhone keyboard, macOS dictation on the Mac. That is not a feature of Kendoshi. What the app contributes is what happens next: quick entry turns the spoken sentence into a task with date, time, priority and project.

Is AI built in?

No. Kendoshi contains no language model and sends nothing to a provider on its own. In focus mode you can copy the task, its steps and notes as text and use them yourself. On the Mac there is also a local access point you can switch on: with it, your own AI client may read and create your tasks. It is off by default, reachable only on your own machine, and requires a token you generate in the settings.

Will my feature requests be built?

Honestly: not all of them. Kendoshi is developed by one person, along one person's daily work. A long wish list won't be worked through. Where feedback helps most: workflow, handling and design – anything that feels wrong while you use it.

03 · When it sticks

Check first, then write.

These four things solve most cases. If it persists, write to me – ideally with device, version and what you did just before.

Nothing arrives

Is the same Apple ID signed in on both devices and iCloud active for Kendoshi? Then close the app once and open it again.

No reminders

Notifications have to be allowed, and the task needs a time – only then is there a reminder 30 minutes before.

External calendar missing

Is the ICS link still valid? Feeds that can't be reached show the last loaded events and a note in a warning colour.

Text cut off

Please report it with the language, theme and density. Those details help reproduce the issue.

04 · Contact

Write to me directly.

Bugs, wishes, questions about team mode: one mail is enough. Device, app version, language and a short description of what happened all help.
